When does WAMU change its programming?

What about a call in advice show? I think that would be a good replacement for FG (I would be happy to volunteer--no payment needed--as a host :)

Fair Game has been replaced with The Story by Dick Gordon, from WUNC in North Carolina. I've listened to it a few times when I've been down there. It's an interview show with regular people who have interesting stories to tell, from a mother dealing with her son's diagnosis of obesity to a scientist studying the effect of climate change on the oceans to a woman who heard Amelia Earhart's last radio transmission as a girl when she was messing around with her father's shortwave set.

Changes in the market sometimes provoke changes here (for instance, when WETA switched back to Classical music we picked up a number of their news and entertainment programs such as Prairie Home and Traditions with Mary Cliff ). Otherwise, we get quarterly audience reports from Arbitron with in-depth data about people's listening habits, and we review these to analyze listening trends for all the programs, to see if something needs to be added to the schedule, something needs to move, etc. I often get in trouble with our Director of Individual Giving, Walt Gillette, because every time we make a schedule change his printed programming guide is immediately out of date ! (seriously, though, he's very good-humored about it)

It's a pretty good show. I used to subscribe to the podcast but found that I wasn't keeping up with it and I was running out of file space so I stopped. As I recall it's interesting, but folksy and low-key unlike some of the more high-power interview shows. It probably would make a good listen at bedtime.
