Our Money System

In my quest to understand what is going on with our current economy (recent bank failures, mortgage crisis), I have encountered a following series of animated films which rather clearly explain how the monetary system works in this country. Thanks for posting these -- they fit well with the reason I came to this site today, searching for concerns about plutocracy, oligarchy, and the corporatist state that we have become.
I highly recommend, if you haven't already seen it, the Chris Hedges address titled "The Corporate State and the Subversion of Democracy" available on Truthdig.com
This address inspired a member of my UU congregation (the UU Church of Arlington, Va) to ask our ministers to speak about this. And one of our ministers did this past Sunday, June 27.
It was an amazing sermon, and it happened at the same time that the disgruntled madman was shooting UUs in Knoxville, Tenn. He is a victim it seems of the very direction the Hedges and Aaron Russo (tyranyofsouls) and others are talking about: we just don't realize how far along we are toward a plutocracy.
I will watch these videos that you have provided. I watched one or two this a.m. and was amazed.
