I can not understand what possessed McCain to tap this woman as his vp choice. She clearly lacks the experience to be president no matter how the ultra right wing conservatives try to say she has it. She was only gov of a marginal state for two years. And it appears that she got into some ethical trouble while there.

Then there are her "family values." Obama has been a gentleman about this woman's horrible family story, e.g. children left alone or farmed out to other family members, the pregnant 17 year old daughter. But we have to ask if this is the type of person we want to hold out as a role model for America's girls?

I think there is a lot more to "family values" than going to some evengelical church and endlessly harping on the abortion issue. I am happy that my family does not share Palin's values and I don't think that she should be given a chance to be vice president of our country.

Maybe McCain can convince Palin to withdraw herself from consideration. God knows she actually DOES need to spend more time with her family.

I wonder how much of this is the fact that the beauty queen from Wasilla kicked some serious Barack Butt on Wednesday.

I would like to see where McCain said those things it just doesn't sound like him
Picking Palin looks more like an act of desperation than a well thought out nominee. If Palin is such a kick ass candidate, why are Republicans racing to sheild her from hard questions? If Palin has so much experience, why is she whinning about the liberal media when her record is questioned? Palin is nothing more than a nasty piece of work and it will come out that she has a history of bad behavior that will embarass McCain.
McCain is noted for having a bad temper and a mean streak. He told this "joke" about Chelsea Clinton at a republican senate fund raiser.
I guess this is just another example of what makes McSame such an appealing "maverick"....As usual, the Republicans can dish it out but cry like babies when they get dosed back. What character. What integrity. Such a paragon of virtue.
Palin is a corrupt, DC neocon-connected disgrace, a white trash Coulter in Schaffly's wardrobe " A Pit Bull in Lipstick", great image. Aren't pit bulls banned in some cities for their vicious natures as killers of children, pets and old folks? Nice metaphor, so fitting. Disgusting all around.
I can't wait for the investigative truths to come out about Princess Sarah's "management record"of misuse of power and special favors. It will be fun watching her make a fool of herself giving non-scripted interviews. Wait until we hear the details of "God's plan for Iraq"....like she has the "inside scoop"? Belongs in an HBO series.
I avoided McSame's speech last night, about as interesting as an old smelly dishrag getting up to dance to ABBA tunes. More tax cuts for the wealthy, more of Bush's failed policies. Yawn.
Marvelous to see how Obama's campaign received another $10 million in donations by the morning after Palin's patently vulgar, sophomoric speech. "Pit Bull in Lipstick", so charming.
Please flap your mean-spirited jaws more, you who describe yourself as a dressed up b***h.
Don't let your tarnished fake tiara slide off....
Wow that is hard core

I note that the polls say race is essentially tied
I just read online that Sara Palin is refusing to talk to the media and has flown back to Alaska to hide from the spot light. Is this true?
Whew! Let's try not to make "ad hominem" attacks, they undermine the credibility of the attacker, not the attackee.

BTW: Palin spells her first name with an "h."
Tell you what, if my old dish rags start dancing to Abba tunes, that is the DEFINITION of interesting.
I am assumming that you are including Palin in your estimation of the credibility of attackers. Palin has done little more than attack. We are still waiting for her to flush out her positions and experience. I have not heard her say one thing of substance since her nomination.
Alexandria, bad news. Sarah is more popular than Obama

So now it comes out that Sarah Palin sought $15 million IN FEDERAL FUNDS to build a train from her small town to Ted Steven's ski resort. Palin a reformer? Not by a definition that I know of. I just hope that the American public does not fall for the same old Rove game of saying something is so when it isn't.
There must be some republicans that see Palin for what she is. A breathtakingly unqualified vp candidate that has some pretty extreme views on religion, family planning, family values, etc. Palin lacks the national security and foreign relation experience that both Obama and Biden have. Palin claims to be a Washington outsider and a reformer but this woman never did say "no thanks" to the bridge to nowhere. She was all for the bridge until congress put a halt to it. Plain kept the money though.

So, I wonder are there some Republicans that will admit they have misgivings about this woman or are they all just following the lead lemming?
