I have no fear of KSM, I have a lot of fear of the guy we don't know about with the nuke. A trial will do nothing to stop that. Moreover there will be no Nuremberg moment here as these people, at least in their own mind are working for God and for God's reward. Bottmline comparing AQ to the is like comparing apples to oranges.

You're not afraid of KSM: just that he'll singlehandedly infect the US prison population with radical jihadism, as you say above. Not only that, but the only thing standing between us and a dirty bomb attack on Manhattan is the indefinite detention of KSM. Because right now, I'm sure the radical jihadis that want to kill us have all forgotten about these guys. The last thing we want to do is remind them by putting their martyrs on trial.

Something like that? I want to make sure I get it right, because right now it sounds ridiculous. It's almost as though the eight years of irrational pants has warped some folks' thinking irreparably. Bonus points for the "There will be no Nuremburg moment for these people." As though Nuremburg was something we did for the Nazi elite; to somehow show them the error of their ways.

Nuremburg wasn't for the Nazis, anymore than the 9/11 trials will be "for" KSM. We'll hold these trials because that's what *we* do. Because we're America. If you don't like that, there are plenty of countries in the world where they have a corresponding contempt for the rule of law. Ironically enough, most are in the Middle East and produce folks like KSM.
