I love doing the C&O, the capital Crescent, Beach Drive on the weekends, W&OD trail, and the Mount Vernon trail (those are in VA but easy to get to). My recommendation though is get out early in the morning because all of these get crowded very quickly with walkers, roller bladers, and families with strollers and kids on tricycles who do not know the rules of the trails yet.
