In a thread on Iran someone made a case for the US press being censored which I being a loyal American find hard to believe but the prima facie case was strong. So with the diversoe ownership/political bias and all is the press censored in the US, why and how.

john, I can't imagine it may have escaped you, since you seem to listen and read everything. Still, there was documentary on the run-up to the Iraq war, I believe it was on Bill Moyers, and journalists from Knight Ridder were discussing their experience of editorial muzzling. This is to the best of my recollection (which may be faulty.) If you find it, it may give you a sense of some incidents of news manipulation.....but tell me, if you care to, what does it mean to you to be a loyal American?
Thanks!

it means you don't believe your government does that kind of stuff because it is against the Constitution.

So, you are loyal to the ideal that you can trust your government, is that it? and when the government breaches that trust, do you lose trust in the incumbent or in the office of government itself?

I trust my government. They have really not done anything to breach that trust. As to whom I lose faith in, well that depends. Probably the incumbent...
