The Handmaid's Tale was a pivotal book for me. I also love Cat's Eye, Alias Grace, and all of her short stories (esp. Wilderness Tips). Her range is extraordinary - elements of the best of Doris Lessing and Jane Smiley included with a completely unique voice. Can't wait to hear her talk about the new book-
