What hyper-local blogs do you use for news about your neighborhood?

* Which bloggers have the best read on the local pulse in your community?
* Are local newspapers and traditional media doing enough to cover local issues?
* Can citizen-journalists step into the breach?

On Monday, the Kojo Nnamdi Show will be surveying the local blog-scene. We'll be talking to citizen-journalists who compile comings-and-goings in different corners of our region. We want to compile a list (and a map) of recommended local websites.

Both provide more events and programs than my schedule can accommodate. The WP's Metro section and the Gazette also keeps me up to date on local feuds about roads, traffic, opinions, politics, crime, plans, sports (high school included), and restaurants.
