Staff AdvisorAnthony Washington, Volunteer Coordinator, WAMU 88.5 FM
Anthony started in public radio as a volunteer in 1996 while attending Frostburg State University. He hosted the morning jazz show at the university station, WFWM, and eventually worked his way up to Format Director of Urban Music and to the evening jazz show. After graduating college, Anthony served for a year as an AmeriCorps Vista member. Hired as Program Manager of the Allen HallStars! program, he was eventually promoted to Assistant Director of the Center for Service at Frostburg State University.
After six years in western Maryland, Anthony moved to Baltimore and worked for a time with CenterStage Theatre. Although he loved working in theatre, he realized he was meant to be in the Volunteer Services field. Before joining WAMU 88.5, he served as Volunteer Coordinator for the Maryland Science Center, managing a variety of internship and volunteer programs.
WAMU 88.5 volunteers who have not been receiving Air Waves should first check their junk e-mail box. If you do not see an issue of Air Waves in your junk e-mail box please email us at volunteers@wamu.org.
