President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize Win

Sorry, but his win was for an attempt at making a difference not actually doing anything. I think this guy has had a greater impact on changing lives for peace. Greg Mortenson, nominated for the p...

John Antonelli, I'm sorry, it seems that Congress got a pay raise in January of 2009 - see here - http://www.washingtonwatch.com/blog/2009/03/15/now - where do you get your misinformation?

Not a big fan of fungibility and I love your bread and beer argument. Very similar to how people use their food stamps to buy the basics and then use their own money to buy things they don't need. Good analogy. Leslie JRS Medical

Everything tastes so much richer from my local produce market than from "imported" grocery stores shelves. I also believe in supporting the local community as much as possible, especially when it saves money!!

Work for JRS Medical Supplies & take care of my 75 yr old diabetic father who is on Medicare. Wish their was a way to help him pay less for his diabetic supplies, heck for any of his prescriptions that don't seem to be convered.

Look forward to getting into this online coversation.

My father, who is 75, has been placed in a assisted living facility for a little over a year now (Thanks to his diabetic condition and lack of self care). Enjoy working at JRS Medical Supplies where I am able to help those at home save money on their medical equipment. But even then I hear numerous stories from the elderly that still can't afford even discounted walkers, hospital beds, and such.

I try to do my part to help to the best of my ability. I also think of them as my own mother or father. Look forward to getting involved in the conversation here at WAMU.
