Addiction in America

Each of us have been touched by addiction. Whether it is ourselves that have become addicted to drugs or alcohol or a family member. There isn't a person who hasn't been impacted by the devistation of addiction. Here is a quick snapshot of how I got my life back after ruining my career as an Analyst with a bank in Dallas. I knew that I could no longer perform at my job after the president came and asked me to sign a performance contract. So at that time I told him that I needed help and needed to go into treatment. I decided that staying in the Dallas area would be to much for me to handle. There would be too many temptaions, so I went into treatment at Sober Living by the Sea in Newport Beach. It consisted of a 30 day inpatient program, a 90 day extended care pragram. At that time I found out that the bank was no longer interested in having me back so I enrolled in the work program at Sober Living by the Sea. They helped me to become once again self supporting by helping me to find another job in the local community and saw me through the entire process. They were with me from day 1 of my sobriety even through this very day. I am very grateful to the staff at Sober Living by the Sea and there various treatment options. I would not be alive and certainly could not be self supporting if it was not for the "step down" programs that SLBTS offers to its clients.
